Welcome to Alpha La LSU

What is Lambda Alpha?

Established in 1968, Lambda Alpha is the National Anthropology Honor Society overseeing 255 university chapters across the United States. Lambda Alpha serves to acknowledge and reward academic excellence among students of anthropology. The Greek letters representing our society, Lambda and Alpha, are the first letters of the words Logos Anthropos (Λογος Ανθροποσ) meaning “the study of humankind.” Amongst members, academic excellence is celebrated through the awarding of student scholarships, research grants, and paper prizes. More information can be found at this website: www.laanthro.org
